Local Teen Makes A Big Summer Trip

Joe Eisaguirre flew north for the summer in a big way — the 17-year-old from Los Olivos piloted a plane to Alaska by himself. He wanted more thrills and adventure out of his summer vacation than going to a theme park, he said, so he hopped into his family's 1959 Piper PA-18 Super Cub single-engine plane and spent a week charting his way to Alaska.
